Alcohol consumption during therapy is not recommended\u003cbr\u003e • suffers from anorexia (an eating disorder characterized by a lack or reduction of appetite)\u003cbr\u003e • suffers from bulimia (an eating disorder where a person ingests an excessive amount of food and then resorts to various methods to eliminate it to avoid gaining weight)\u003cbr\u003e • suffers from cachexia (a state characterized by extreme thinness, reduction of muscle mass, and thinning of the skin due to chronic diseases)\u003cbr\u003e • suffers from chronic malnutrition\u003cbr\u003e • suffers from dehydration (severe loss of water\/fluids from the body)\u003cbr\u003e • suffers from hypovolemia (reduced blood volume circulating in the body)\u003cbr\u003e • suffers from mild\/moderate reduction in liver function (including Gilbert's syndrome, a condition characterized by excessive production of bilirubin, a substance that causes a yellowish discoloration of the skin and eyes)\u003cbr\u003e • suffers from severe liver problems\u003cbr\u003e • is affected by acute hepatitis (acute inflammation of the liver)\u003cbr\u003e • is taking medicines that stimulate liver enzymes (increase the way the liver works)\u003cbr\u003e • suffers from glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (a substance normally present in the human body, whose deficiency can cause hemolytic anemia)\u003cbr\u003e • suffers from hemolytic anemia (a disease due to the destruction of certain blood cells, red blood cells)\u003cbr\u003e • suffers from kidney failure (kidney diseases).\u003cbr\u003e Paracetamol can cause severe skin reactions that can be fatal. The use of Efferalganmed should be discontinued at the first appearance of a skin rash or any other sign of hypersensitivity\/allergy.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e \u003cem\u003eUse of high doses and\/or for prolonged periods\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr\u003e The use of high or prolonged doses of this medicine can cause severe liver disorders and even severe kidney and blood alterations. In these cases, the doctor will monitor liver and kidney function and blood composition through appropriate tests.\u003cbr\u003e Prolonged use of analgesics (for more than 3 months) in patients with chronic headaches, especially if repeated and frequent, can increase or worsen the headache. In these cases, it is necessary to consult a doctor.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eChildren and adolescents\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e This medicine can be given to children weighing over 13 kg and adolescents (see section 3 How to use EFFERALGANMED).\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003ePossible side effects\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003eLike all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them.\u003cbr\u003e If the person taking the medicine experiences the following side effects, \u003cb\u003eSTOP\u003c\/b\u003e treatment with this medicine and contact your doctor \u003cb\u003eimmediately\u003c\/b\u003e:\u003cbr\u003e • \u003cb\u003eskin reactions\u003c\/b\u003e that may manifest as\u003cbr\u003e - urticaria (appearance of hives on the skin accompanied by itching)\u003cbr\u003e - skin rash\u003cbr\u003e - erythema (redness of the skin)\u003cbr\u003e - erythema multiforme (appearance of red spots on the skin with a bull's-eye appearance associated with itching)\u003cbr\u003e - purpura (appearance of purplish skin patches of different sizes)\u003cbr\u003e - Stevens-Johnson syndrome (a severe form of erythema multiforme)\u003cbr\u003e - epidermal necrolysis (a severe skin disease characterized by redness, bullous lesions with areas of detachment and death of the skin)\u003cbr\u003e - acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (eruption of hundreds of superficial pustules spread throughout the body)\u003cbr\u003e • \u003cb\u003eallergic reactions\u003c\/b\u003e that may manifest as\u003cbr\u003e - laryngeal edema (swelling of the throat)\u003cbr\u003e - angioedema (swelling of hands, feet, ankles, face, lips, tongue and\/or throat)\u003cbr\u003e - anaphylactic reaction (severe allergic reaction) including hypotension (low blood pressure)\u003cbr\u003e - hypersensitivity\u003cbr\u003e - anaphylactic shock (severe allergic reaction).\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e In addition, the following side effects may occur, for which there are not enough data to establish the frequency:\u003cbr\u003e • thrombocytopenia (reduction in the number of platelets in the blood)\u003cbr\u003e • leukopenia\/agranulocytosis\/neutropenia (reduction in the number of white blood cells in the blood)\u003cbr\u003e • anemia (reduction of hemoglobin in the blood, a substance that transports oxygen in the blood)\u003cbr\u003e • diarrhea\u003cbr\u003e • abdominal pain\u003cbr\u003e • stomach and intestinal reactions\u003cbr\u003e • abnormal liver function\u003cbr\u003e • hepatitis (inflammation of the liver)\u003cbr\u003e • alteration of INR (value used to express the time it takes for blood to clot)\u003cbr\u003e • increase in liver enzymes\u003cbr\u003e • headache\u003cbr\u003e • dizziness\u003cbr\u003e • acute kidney failure (reduction of kidney function)\u003cbr\u003e • interstitial nephritis (inflammation of the kidneys)\u003cbr\u003e • hematuria (blood in the urine)\u003cbr\u003e • anuria (cessation or reduction of urine production by the kidney)\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eReporting of side effects\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e If you get any side effects, including any not listed in this leaflet, tell your doctor or pharmacist.
