Before applying Flaminal (hydro or forte), wound and surrounding area cleaning is recommended.\u003cbr\u003e 2. Cover the entire wound bed with a sufficiently thick layer (e.g. 4-5 mm) of Flaminal hydro or, for wounds with moderate or high exudate, Flaminal forte.\u003cbr\u003e Flaminal (hydro or forte) can be applied in the following ways, for example, directly from the tube, directly onto the dressing, with a spatula, with a nozzle, or with a syringe.\u003cbr\u003e 3. Cover Flaminal (hydro or forte) with a dressing. The choice of dressing should be based on the type of wound.\u003cbr\u003e Slightly or moderately exuding wound: transparent film (polyurethane) or non-adherent dressing secured by a non-adherent bandage, e.g. paraffin gauze.\u003cbr\u003e Moderately to strongly exuding: non-adherent absorbent dressing secured with a non-adherent bandage or hypoallergenic adhesive tape.\u003cbr\u003e 4. Check the dressing daily.\u003cbr\u003e The dressing with Flaminal (Hydro or Forte) can remain in place as long as the gel structure is intact (1 to 4 days, depending on the amount of exudate).\u003cbr\u003e In case of leakage or insufficient gel, Flaminal (Hydro and Forte) must be changed and a new dressing applied.\u003cbr\u003e 5. With each dressing change\/wound cleaning:\u003cbr\u003e • clean the wound and surrounding area thoroughly;\u003cbr\u003e • remove all whitish alginate flakes from the wound and leave only those on the wound edge. The flakes prevent weakening of the wound edge and maceration (softening and breakdown of skin due to prolonged exposure to moisture).
