The presence of sodium bicarbonate and sodium and calcium carbonates also reduces stomach hyperacidity. The pure Aloe vera juice, due to the natural presence of polysaccharides, has a protective action on the mucous membranes because, by adhering to the walls of the esophagus and stomach, it forms a protective film capable of defending the tissues from gastric juices or irritating agents. In addition to the virtues of double-concentrated pure Aloe vera juice, there are those of sodium alginate which, in contact with the acidity of the stomach, reacts by forming a gel. The gel, by trapping the carbon dioxide bubbles released by the carbonates contained in the formulation, positions itself in the upper part of the stomach, forming a barrier that mechanically prevents the ascent of gastric juices towards the esophagus.
