Description
Keratolytic ointment containing 30% salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is a fat-soluble substance that mixes with the lipids of the stratum corneum and the sebaceous glands of hair follicles and is able to remove them. Salicylic acid is also able to alter desmosomes (intercellular junctions of corneocytes), reducing cell cohesion and causing an exfoliating effect. It therefore has keratolytic and comedolytic properties. Furthermore, thanks to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis, it has anti-inflammatory properties.

Decapan 30 Ointment contains 30% salicylic acid.
