Description
Medical device with a laxative action, indicated for the symptomatic treatment of constipation.
It promotes peristalsis, helping to achieve adequate bowel evacuation, thus counteracting constipation and preventing the formation of fecal impactions.
It also facilitates the elimination of intestinal gas, reducing the sensation of bloating and abdominal distension.
Macrogol is a water-soluble inert polymer with a high molecular weight that has the ability to bind to the water used for ingestion, retaining it in the feces. It rehydrates and softens the fecal mass and facilitates its evacuation. It accelerates intestinal transit by promoting peristalsis. It is not absorbed or metabolized in the gastrointestinal tract and does not lead to hydro-electrolyte imbalances if taken with the indicated dose of liquid.
Simethicone is a substance that has the ability to decrease the surface tension of gas bubbles present in the gastrointestinal tract, facilitating their expulsion.

Directions for use
Use the measuring spoon included in the package to dose the powder: fill it level and not pressed, then remove any excess product with the blade of a knife.

Children aged between 6 months and 12 years (adults/children ≤43 kg)
- 6-10 kg: 1 level measuring spoon per day;
- 10-15 kg: 1-2 level measuring spoons per day;
- 16-20 kg: 2-3 level measuring spoons per day;
- 21-43 kg: 3-4 level measuring spoons per day.
The dose should be increased or decreased, depending on the individual response to treatment, to allow for regular evacuation of soft stools.
The maximum necessary dose does not normally exceed 4 measuring spoons per day.
Dissolve the powder in water or other liquid (50 ml for each measuring spoon) and take immediately. It is recommended to administer the product in the morning if only 1 measuring spoon per day is to be taken. For larger doses, divide the intake between morning and evening.

Adults and children over 12 years of age (>43 kg)
- 2 to 10 level measuring spoons per day.
The dose should be increased or decreased, depending on the individual response to treatment, to allow for regular evacuation of soft stools.
The maximum necessary dose does not normally exceed 10 measuring spoons per day.
Dissolve the powder in water or other liquid (50 ml for each measuring spoon) and take immediately. It is recommended to administer the product in the morning if the minimum dose (2 measuring spoons per day) is to be taken. For larger doses, divide the intake between morning and evening.

Warnings
It is recommended to use the product in pediatric age after consulting a doctor. Administration in children must be carried out under the direct supervision of an adult.
Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
Do not use if the package is open or damaged.
Do not exceed the maximum daily dose.
Keep the product or the resulting solution out of reach of children.
If no improvement is observed after 7 days of treatment, it is advisable to consult a doctor.
The product can reduce the residence time in the intestine and therefore the absorption of oral medicines. It is therefore advisable to consult a doctor if oral medicines are taken simultaneously, which in any case must be administered at least 2 hours apart.
In case of adverse reactions, even if different from those listed, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor. Some gastrointestinal disturbances (stomach pain, flatulence, abdominal bloating, nausea and fecal incontinence) may occur. Diarrhea is a side effect of taking excessive doses of Dicopeg esse and can be avoided by decreasing the dose. Cases of hypersensitivity reactions (skin rash) have rarely been reported following the use of products containing macrogol. In such cases, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor.
Do not take Dicopeg esse in case of known hypersensitivity to macrogol or other components, perforation, intestinal obstruction or stenosis, paralytic ileus, severe inflammatory diseases of the intestinal tract such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and toxic megacolon.
The use of laxatives is contraindicated in cases of acute or unknown abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, rectal bleeding of unknown origin and in cases of severe dehydration.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, away from light and heat sources.
The indicated expiry date refers to the product correctly stored in an unopened package.
Validity with intact packaging: 24 months.
Validity after opening: 3 months.
