DR.BRUX
NIGHT BITE
Description
Dr. Brux is a practical self-molding bite guard indicated for protecting teeth from bruxism or grinding.
Anatomical shape for high comfort thanks to a special thermoplastic material with two different hardnesses. The first, the side wall, provides stability and comfort; the second, the occlusal plane, creates a support surface that facilitates the sliding of teeth during grinding and makes the bite guard resistant to wear.
Made of thermo-moldable material. Immerse Dr.Brux in boiling water for a few seconds and insert it into the mouth to obtain a bite guard that adapts to the dentition, thus achieving great stability and high comfort. Thanks to the "calibrated" occlusal thicknesses that help bring the jaw into a resting position, muscle relaxation is facilitated. The thickness of the bite guard creates muscle lengthening and thus a reduction in the forces exerted by the masticatory muscles.
Hygienic and colored, it comes with a protective case and is available in four different colors to be easily recognizable within a family.
Instructions for use
Adaptation should be done on the teeth of the upper arch.
Hold the "Cross-Shaped System" adaptation device and insert it into the Dr. Brux Bite. Before proceeding with personalization, try inserting the bite guard into your mouth to become familiar with the subsequent maneuvers.
In a pot, bring about 500 ml of water to a boil: it is necessary to reach a temperature of 100°C (do not use a microwave to boil water). Remove the pot from the heat or electric hob. Holding the personalization device as illustrated, completely immerse the bite guard in boiling water (100°C) for 6 seconds (using a timer). Remove the bite guard and shake it vigorously to remove residual water. This will make the bite guard hot, but it will not burn.
Slightly widen the walls of the bite guard to facilitate insertion onto the teeth. Caution: ensure the walls do not fold inwards and get bitten. Insert the bite guard into the mouth, closing the teeth without clenching too hard, keeping the adaptation device inserted. With lips closed, inhale air and suck firmly for at least one minute to remove air from inside the mouth. This will create a "vacuum," and the walls of the bite guard will adhere perfectly to the external and internal surfaces of the teeth, thus obtaining an optimal conformation of the bite guard. Simultaneously, press your fingers against your cheeks to make the outer part of the bite guard adhere to the dentition. After about one minute, remove the bite guard from your mouth and immerse it in cold water for at least 2 minutes. At this point, remove the adaptation device, and the bite guard will be ready for use.
If Dr. Brux is unstable, repeat the personalization steps, paying closer attention. To improve personalization, if the molding was not precise in all parts of the bite guard, it is recommended to repeat the operation by immersing the bite guard only in the affected portion using one of the 4 insertion points of the adaptation device.
Do not discard the adaptation device because if your dental situation changes, you can reshape the bite guard.
If, after personalization, there are burrs or folds in the material, remove them using small scissors or a utility knife.
If Dr. Brux is too long, shorten it near the pre-cut line using scissors or a utility knife.
After use, before storing the bite guard in its case, wash it with a toothbrush under cold running water. For proper hygiene and cleaning of Dr. Brux, weekly complete disinfection is recommended to prevent bacterial growth caused by dental plaque.
Warnings
The use of the Bite Guard is recommended in the presence of permanent dentition.
In case of marked dental or gum dysfunctions, in the presence of fixed or removable orthodontic appliances, or removable prostheses, consult a dentist before using Dr. Brux.
Do not reshape the bite guard more than 10 times.
Do not use a microwave to heat the water.
Never wash the bite guard with boiling water.
Avoid storing the bite guard near heat sources.
Do not use the bite guard with the personalization device inserted.
