What it is and what it is used for
FERTOMCIDINA U is an aqueous salt-bromoiodic solution used for the disinfection and cleaning of skin in cases of small superficial wounds.
Consult your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse.

What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use FERTOMCIDINA U
- if you are allergic to the active ingredients or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6)
- if you suffer from thyroid problems
- if you are pregnant or breastfeeding

Warnings and precautions
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using FERTOMCIDINA “U”.
•Do not use the product for prolonged treatments: after a short period of treatment without appreciable results, it is necessary to consult a doctor. The use, especially if prolonged, of topical (local) products can give rise to sensitisation phenomena (excessive reaction of the body to foreign substances with which it has come into contact). In this case, stop the treatment and consult your doctor to start suitable therapy.
• The product is for external use only.
•Do not apply a bandage as it does not allow the treated part to transpire.
• Avoid use on extensive surfaces and contact with the eyes.
• Accidental ingestion or inhalation of some disinfectants can have serious, sometimes fatal, consequences. In case of accidental ingestion, consult a doctor immediately.

The product may leave stains on clothing that can be removed with water; avoid using soap.

Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Burning or irritation (intolerance) may occur.
The reaction of iodine with damaged tissues can delay healing. Application on burns or abrasions of a large surface area can lead to the absorption of iodine into the blood: in these cases, thyroid function control is recommended.
Following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.
