NUTRICIA
flocare
PUR nasogastric tube
Description
CE Class IIB Medical Device (Directive 93/42/EEC).
Long-term enteral feeding tube. The polyurethane (PUR) nasogastric enteral feeding tube is equipped with a lubricated stylet. The device features a specific male ENFit connector for enteral nutrition that allows it to be connected to the female ENFit end connector of enteral nutrition sets and syringes to prevent improper connections (ISO 80369-3).
Flocare nasogastric tubes are characterized by:
male ENFit connector with a cap, compatible with ENFit syringes and incompatible with other connections (e.g., Luer lock) to ensure greater patient safety and prevent improper connections;
three radiopaque lines that allow for evaluation of correct tube placement;
two different blue graduated markings, with 2 cm and 1 cm intervals;
distal end with two lateral holes and one apical hole;
stylet (=metallic guidewire) coated with silicone to facilitate the placement procedure and reinsertion into the tube to remove any sedimentation that could cause obstruction of the tube itself.
The device is latex and phthalate free.
The product is sterilized by ethylene oxide.
Recommendations
Polyurethane/silicone tubes should only be lubricated with water or water-soluble gels. Tubes should be flushed before and after administering meals and medications, at least 3 times a day.
Components
Nasogastric tube: Polyurethane (PUR); polyurethane is a synthetic material with good compatibility and excellent resistance.
Stylet: stainless steel coated with silicone.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place.
Validity with intact packaging: 60 months.
