Cica-Care

SILICONE GEL

Indications
Soft, self-adhesive, semi-occlusive silicone dressing consisting of medical-grade silicone reinforced by a support membrane. Indicated for the treatment of both recent or pre-existing hypertrophic scars and keloids, and for prophylaxis and prevention on closed (sutured) wounds.

How to use
Wash hands before and after use. Gently clean the scar and the skin around the scar with mild soap and rinse with warm water. Thoroughly dry the scar and the periscar tissue.
Once the sheet has been cut to the correct size for the scar to be treated, apply the adhesive side to the scar.
It is self-adhesive, but can also be held in place by a light elastic bandage or an adhesive plaster. To help the skin get used to it, apply for 4 hours for the first 2 days, 8 hours for the next 2 days and increase the application time by 2 hours at a time, until an optimum of 24 hours a day is reached.

Warnings
In some patients, erythema has been observed on the skin covered by the dressing. This problem has been attributed to poor hygiene or to the dressing being applied with excessive compression. If erythema appears, reduce Cica-Care treatment to 12 hours, followed by 12 hours of rest. If the erythema persists, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor. On sutured surgical wounds, Cica-Care should only be applied after the stitches have been removed and the wound has subsequently closed.
Use is contraindicated in patients with conditions that may interfere with the correct application of the product and in patients with dermatological problems that could make the skin in contact with the product more fragile and prone to irritation.
