Description
Sterile aqueous hydrogel containing: polyvinyl alcohol, with lubricating, hydrating, viscoelastic, mucoadhesive, protective action; dexpanthenol, which belongs to the B vitamin group, a homolog of pantothenic acid, a vitamin tissue nutrient, epithelio-protective; hexamidine disethionate, polyhexanide hydrochloride and disodium edetate (antiseptics) and other excipients, to be used on ocular tissues by instillation.
It is indicated for corneal protection and lubrication or in cases of alteration of the ocular surface and tear film instability and for the soothing treatment of symptoms related to inflammatory conditions, including those of infectious origin, before and after surgical procedures (e.g., intravitreal injections), even in cases of ocular trauma after contact lens use, including patients with recurrent eye infections.
The presence of antiseptics in the formulation ensures the sterility of the ophthalmic solution after the first opening of the vial and is useful in protecting ocular tissues from irritation and possible environmental sepsis.
In this device, the concentration of polyvinyl alcohol (1.25%) has been specially designed to ensure that the resulting hydrogel has rheological characteristics similar to those of tear fluid and an effective adhesive property on ocular mucous membranes with a lubricating, hydrating, protective effect, without causing visual blurring.
This hydrogel also ensures a prolonged effect of the components on the ocular mucous membranes, promoting their nourishing-vitamin efficacy, which aids re-epithelialization.
Methylsulfonylmethane, present among the excipients of the formulation, a substance containing biologically active sulfur, does not perform any specific pharmacological action but facilitates the absorption of dexpanthenol through activation of cellular permeability.
KERATOSEPT PRO is an aqueous colloidal liquid characterized by the following physicochemical properties: it is perfectly transparent and colorless; it is miscible with tear fluid in all proportions; it has pH, viscosity, and osmolarity values perfectly compatible with ocular tissues and tear fluid, and therefore has a high degree of tolerability.

Instructions for use
Detach a single-dose vial from the strip, shake the spout to free it from liquid, and open the single-dose vial by twisting the tab and simultaneously pulling.
Then invert the vial and instill 1-2 drops of the device solution into the lower conjunctival sac of the eye, applying slight pressure to the body of the vial.
It is advisable to repeat the operation 2-3 or more times a day when necessary, with the possibility of using the same single-dose vial, carefully reclosed, within 24 hours.

Components
Hexamidine disethionate 0.050%, polyhexanide hydrochloride 0.0001%, disodium edetate, dexpanthenol 5%, polyvinyl alcohol 1.25%, methylsulfonylmethane, dibasic sodium phosphate, monobasic potassium phosphate, purified water.

Warnings
Given the absence of quaternary ammonium salts, the device can also be used by soft and rigid contact lens wearers.
- Do not touch the eye with the tip of the dropper.
- Do not use in case of active eye infections.
- Do not use simultaneously with other eye drops.
- Do not use in case of known incompatibility with any component of the preparation.
- Do not use the product after the expiry date indicated on the package.
- Do not use if the packaging is damaged.
- Use according to the intended use.
- Do not use the product for more than 10 consecutive days.
- The device must be used within 24 hours of first opening.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.

Storage
Store the bottle below 25°C.
