GOLAMIXIN
oral mucosa spray
What it is and what it is used for
Preparation for the oropharyngeal cavity.
Topical therapy for bacterial stomatitis sensitive to tyrothricin.
What you need to know before taking the medicine
Subjects with known hypersensitivity to the components, especially tyrothricin.
Subjects with a known marked predisposition to allergopathies.
Warnings and precautions
In pregnant women and in early infancy, the product should be administered only when strictly necessary and under direct medical supervision.
If there is no response within two days of starting administration, discontinue treatment due to the possible colonization by bacterial strains or fungi (especially Candida) resistant to tyrothricin. The use, especially if prolonged, of topical products can give rise to sensitization phenomena. In such a case, therapy must be interrupted and appropriate therapy instituted.
Similar behavior should be observed in case of development of non-sensitive microorganisms.
Keep the medicine out of the reach and sight of children.
For those engaged in sports activities, the use of medicines containing ethyl alcohol may lead to positive results in anti-doping tests in relation to the alcohol concentration limits indicated by some sports federations.
Possible side effects
With the use of tyrothricin, darkening of the tongue, rarely glossitis and sensitization reactions have been reported, which, however, regress with the interruption of treatment. More relevant may be the sensitization symptoms of anesthetics, including muscle disorders, seizures.
Patients are invited to report any side effects other than those listed above to their doctor or pharmacist.
