What it is and what it is used for
Guaiacalcium complex contains dropropizine and potassium sulfoguaiacolate.
This medicine is used to relieve coughs.
Consult your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after a few days.
What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not take Guaiacalcium complex
- if you are allergic to the active ingredients or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);
- during pregnancy, while breastfeeding (see Pregnancy and breastfeeding);
- in children under 13 years of age.
Warnings and precautions
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking Guaiacalcium complex.
Due to the presence of ethanol (alcohol), use particular caution if any of the following apply to you:
• if you have liver disease;
• if you suffer from epilepsy;
• if you have problems with alcoholism;
• if you have suffered trauma or suffer from brain diseases.
Children and adolescents
This medicine can only be used in children over 13 years of age.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Cases of nausea and other mild stomach and intestinal discomfort have been rarely reported.
