HIRUDOID 25,000 I.U. Cream
Glycosaminoglycan Polysulfate

What it is and what it is used for
HIRUDOID contains the active ingredient glycosaminoglycan polysulfate, which has anti-inflammatory and antithrombotic activity, meaning it prevents the formation of blood clots (thrombi).

HIRUDOID is used to treat:
- inflammation of a vein located under the skin surface (superficial phlebitis) or a blood clot causing inflammation of a vein (thrombophlebitis);
- inflammation caused by vein dilation (varicose veins);
- hematomas.

What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use HIRUDOID
- if you are allergic to the active ingredient, to a heparinoid (a medicine with anticoagulant action similar to heparin), or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).

Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using HIRUDOID.

Discontinue treatment and contact your doctor immediately if allergic reactions occur after applying the cream.

Possible side effects
No side effects have been reported following the use of HIRUDOID.
