INOFOLIC Luteal

Food supplement based on myo-inositol, melatonin, vitamin D, and folic acid, useful for providing an additional intake of these substances in cases of reduced dietary intake or increased need.
The primary biological role of myo-inositol is to mediate the message of important hormones, including FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone), which is necessary for the initial phase of the ovulatory cycle, precisely called the "follicular phase". Scientific studies have shown that follicles containing high concentrations of myo-inositol support proper oocyte maturation and subsequently generate high-quality embryos.
Melatonin is mainly produced by the pineal gland. After the age of 35, nocturnal melatonin levels undergo a significant decrease, leading to a reduction in the amount available for individual tissues, such as the ovary. This decline is also correlated with a decrease in fertility. In fact, melatonin is essential for oocyte growth because it supports the luteal phase, a period identifiable from approximately day 14 of the ovulatory cycle and dominated by LH (luteinizing hormone). High concentrations of melatonin are indeed present in follicles containing mature oocytes. Furthermore, several studies have shown that sleep disorders related to melatonin deficiency can cause subfertility.
Vitamin D plays a key role in human reproduction by supporting the luteal phase of the ovulatory cycle, implantation processes, and the physiological development of the fetus.
Folic acid is a water-soluble vitamin of the B group. It is involved in the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and proteins, in the cell division process, and in chromosome repair. It contributes to the normal growth of maternal tissues during pregnancy, and its deficiency can lead to an increase in intrafollicular homocysteine, with a consequent reduction in oocyte quality. Furthermore, scientific studies have shown that a reduced intake of folic acid is often correlated with fetal growth defects and the development of neural tube defects. Dietary folic acid supplementation increases maternal folate status.
