Ketotifen

What it is and what it is used for
KETAZED is an eye drop solution that contains the active ingredient ketotifen, an antiallergic molecule.
KETAZED eye drops, solution is used to treat ocular symptoms of seasonal allergies.

What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use KETAZED:
If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to ketotifen or any of the other ingredients (see list in paragraph 6).

Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using KETAZED.

Children KETAZED should not be used in children aged between birth and 3 years.

Possible side effects
Like all medicines, KETAZED can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The following side effects have been reported.

Common (affects fewer than 1 in 10 patients)
• eye irritation or pain
• eye inflammation

Uncommon (affects fewer than 1 in 100 patients)
• blurred vision when drops are applied to the eye
• dry eye
• eyelid disorder
• conjunctivitis
• increased sensitivity of the eyes to light
• visible bleeding of the white part of the eye
• headache
• drowsiness
• skin rash (possibly itchy)
• eczema (itching, redness and skin rash)
• dry mouth
• allergic reaction (including swelling of the face and eyelids) and increased severity of existing allergic conditions such as asthma and eczema

If any of the side effects get worse, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, tell your doctor or pharmacist.
