Ketotifen
What it is and what it is used for
KETAZED is an eye drop solution containing the active ingredient ketotifen, an antiallergic molecule.
KETAZED eye drops, solution is used to treat ocular symptoms of seasonal allergies.
What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use KETAZED:
If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to ketotifen or any of the other ingredients (see list in paragraph 6).
Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using KETAZED.
Children KETAZED should not be used in children between birth and 3 years of age.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, KETAZED can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The following side effects have been reported.
Common (affects less than 1 in 10 patients)
• eye irritation or pain
• inflammation in the eyes
Uncommon (affects less than 1 in 100 patients)
• blurred vision when drops are put in the eye
• dry eye
• eyelid disorder
• conjunctivitis
• increased sensitivity of the eyes to light
• visible bleeding of the white part of the eye
• headache
• drowsiness
• rash (possibly itchy)
• eczema (itching, redness and rash)
• dry mouth
• allergic reaction (including swelling of the face and eyelids) and increased severity of existing allergic conditions such as asthma and eczema
