KPHOS
Description
Dietary supplement containing monobasic potassium phosphate and dibasic potassium phosphate.
The two salts are contained in stoichiometric ratios such as to obtain a neutral potassium phosphate capable of avoiding alterations to the body's acid-base balance, which are typical of all phosphate salts taken individually.
It is useful for supplementing both potassium and phosphorus, in cases of deficiency or increased need for these nutrients.
Ingredients
Maltodextrin, potassium phosphate, flavoring; acidifier: citric acid; colorant: beta-carotene; sweetener: saccharin sodium salt; anti-caking agent: silicon dioxide (nano).
Gluten-free.
Nutritional characteristics
Directions for use
A sachet of KPHOS dissolved in half a glass of water makes a pleasant citrus-flavored drink.
It is recommended to take two sachets of KPHOS per day for adequate phosphorus supplementation.
For other indications (prevention of hypercalciuria) follow medical prescription.
Warnings
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
Keep out of reach of children under 3 years of age.
Supplements are not intended as substitutes for a varied diet.
KPHOS is contraindicated in patients suffering from hyperkalemia, or conditions that may predispose to the onset of such plasma alteration. These conditions include chronic renal failure, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus.
The simultaneous intake of KPHOS and potassium-sparing drugs (triamterene, spironolactone, amiloride) could lead to hyperkalemia. It is therefore advisable to monitor potassium levels.
No interactions with other drugs are known.
Rarely, during treatment, mild gastrointestinal disturbances such as abdominal heaviness, nausea, and occasionally diarrhea may develop.
Storage
Shelf life from production date, in unopened packaging: 24 months.
Format
Pack of 30 sachets of 3 g each.
