What it is and what it is used for
This medicine contains Ibuprofen lysine salt, which belongs to a group of drugs called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which act to relieve pain and reduce symptoms associated with inflammation.

Lasonil pain relief is used for the local treatment of bruises, sprains, myalgia (muscle pain), muscle strains, and stiff neck.

Consult your doctor if you do not feel better or if your symptoms worsen.

What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use Lasonil pain relief
- if you are allergic to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
- if you are allergic to other analgesics (painkillers), antipyretics (fever reducers), non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) that have previously caused you asthma, rhinitis, urticaria or other allergic reactions.
- if you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy (see Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility).
- if you are breastfeeding (see Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility).
- if you are under 14 years old (see Children and adolescents).
- if you use other NSAIDs (see Other medicines and Lasonil pain relief).

Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Lasonil pain relief:
- if you suffer or have ever suffered from asthma, allergic rhinitis, urticaria or other allergic reactions after using acetylsalicylic acid or similar anti-inflammatory drugs.
- if you are simultaneously using anticoagulants (drugs used to thin the blood) such as warfarin (see Other medicines and Lasonil pain relief)

It is advisable to avoid applying Lasonil pain relief to open wounds or skin lesions.

Skin reactions

The use of Lasonil pain relief, especially if prolonged, can lead to local sensitization phenomena: at the first appearance of a skin rash, mucosal lesions or any other sign of hypersensitivity, stop the treatment and consult your doctor who may adopt appropriate therapeutic measures.

To avoid more serious hypersensitivity or photosensitivity phenomena (skin rashes after product application and subsequent exposure to light, solar or UV), do not expose yourself to direct sunlight, including solarium, during treatment and for two weeks thereafter (see section 4. Possible side effects.).

Severe skin reactions including exfoliative dermatitis, erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS), acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP) have been reported in association with Lasonil pain relief treatment. Stop using Lasonil pain relief and contact your doctor immediately if you notice any of the symptoms related to these severe skin reactions described in section 4.

Children and adolescents
The use of the medicine is reserved only for patients over 14 years of age.

Possible side effects
Stop using Lasonil Pain Relief and consult your doctor immediately if you notice any of the following symptoms:

- non-raised, reddish, target-shaped or circular spots on the trunk, often with central blisters, peeling skin, ulcers of the mouth, throat, nose, genitals and eyes. These severe skin rashes may be preceded by fever and flu-like symptoms [exfoliative dermatitis, erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis].
- widespread rash, high body temperature and enlarged lymph nodes (DRESS syndrome).
- widespread, red and scaly rash, with bumps under the skin and blisters, accompanied by fever. Symptoms usually appear at the beginning of treatment (acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis).

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects although not everyone experiences them.

Side effects can be minimized by using the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration of treatment needed to control symptoms.

Skin reactions with erythema, itching, irritation, warmth or burning sensation and contact dermatitis have been reported with some non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for skin application.

The skin becomes sensitive to light. Photosensitivity reactions (skin rashes after product application and subsequent exposure to light, solar or UV) are possible, side effects reported with an unknown frequency (i.e., the frequency cannot be defined based on available data). See also section 2.

Following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.
