What it is and what it is used for
Lecrosine contains the active ingredient called sodium cromoglicate, which belongs to a group of medicines called anti-allergics.
Lecrosine is used for the treatment of allergic eye symptoms. It works by blocking the release of natural substances in the eyes, such as histamine, which can cause an allergic reaction. Signs of an allergic reaction include itchy eyes, red or inflamed eyes, watery eyes, and swollen eyelids. Both eyes are usually affected.
These symptoms generally occur in spring or summer, when pollen from plants comes into contact with the eyes of people who are sensitive to these plants.
Consult your doctor if symptoms do not improve or worsen within two days.

What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use Lecrosine
if you are allergic to sodium cromoglicate or any of the other ingredients of Lecrosine (listed in section 6).

Warnings and precautions
Consult your doctor before using Lecrosine if symptoms affect only one eye, as allergic reactions normally affect both eyes.

Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Allergic reactions (hypersensitivity) have been reported. However, the frequency of these reactions is not known.
If you notice symptoms such as skin rashes, difficulty swallowing or breathing, swelling of the lips, face, throat and tongue, and worsening redness, contact your doctor immediately.
A common side effect (may affect up to 1 in 10 people) is local burning during application.
