URGOCLEAN PAD

Description
UrgoClean Pad dressing consists of an absorbent pad of polyacrylate fibers arranged in a cohesive structure and coated with TLC (lipid-colloid technology) matrix. The TLC matrix is composed of liquid paraffin, sodium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), and polymers.
Indicated for dressing and treating exuding skin lesions.
Intended for use throughout the entire healing process: both on lesions covered with fibrin (yellowish deposit on the wound bed) and on lesions covered with granulation tissue (red tissue present on the wound bed).
In cases of heavily exuding lesions (i.e., wounds with a high amount of fluid), UrgoClean Pad can be covered with an additional absorbent dressing.
UrgoClean Pad must be secured with a dressing fixation system (e.g., fixation tape, bandage or tubular net, or adhesive dressing).
UrgoClean Pad is not intended for use on wounds with necrotic plaque.

Instructions for use
UrgoClean Pad can be applied by a healthcare professional, a family member, or the patient themselves, provided they have been previously instructed and supervised by a healthcare professional.
1. Wash hands with soap and water, then dry them with a clean cloth. Alternatively, disinfect hands with an alcohol-based solution or gel.
2. Put on disposable medical gloves.
3. Prepare the lesion according to the usual treatment protocol.
The use of UrgoClean Pad does not replace cleaning the lesion in the presence of fibrin (yellowish deposit), if deemed necessary by the healthcare professional. The lesion may appear larger after fibrin removal.
After cleaning the wound, gently dry the perilesional skin with a sterile pad.
4. Remove disposable medical gloves.
5. Verify that the wrapper ensuring the sterility of UrgoClean Pad has not been damaged or opened before use. If it has, use a new dressing.
6. Open the UrgoClean Pad packaging along its entire length, without touching the dressing. At this stage, do not remove UrgoClean Pad from the packaging.
7. Put on a new pair of disposable medical gloves.
8. Take UrgoClean Pad, avoiding touching the outside of the packaging.
9. UrgoClean Pad can be cut with sterile scissors if this operation can facilitate the application and fixation of the dressing.
10. To facilitate application, remove one of the two protective films from the pad, begin applying the dressing from the side free of protection, then remove the second film and apply it completely.
11. In cases of heavily exuding wounds (i.e., wounds with a high amount of fluid), cover the UrgoClean Pad with an additional absorbent dressing secured with a dressing fixation system (e.g., if the cover dressing is not self-adhesive, with fixation tape, bandage, or tubular net).
Apply a compression system, where compression therapy has been prescribed.
When a foot offloading device is prescribed or recommended, prepare the offloading system.
The frequency of dressing changes should be assessed by a healthcare professional. However, it is recommended to change the UrgoClean Pad dressing every 1-2 days and then adjust the frequency of changes based on the clinical assessment of the lesion and the level of exudate (the amount of fluid that forms in the lesion) without exceeding 7 days of application per dressing.
It is recommended to continue treatment with UrgoClean Pad until complete epithelialization of the wound (i.e., until the wound closes).

Warnings
The wound must be medically evaluated before treatment with UrgoClean Pad dressing. In patients who show signs or symptoms of infection before or during the use of UrgoClean Pad, such as erythema (redness of the skin around the lesion), edema (swelling), warmth or pain in the lesion area, fever, increased lesion size, foul odor of the lesion, abundant exudate (formation of large amounts of fluid in the lesion), they should consult a healthcare professional so that the problem can be adequately treated.
Do not use if the packaging maintaining the sterility of UrgoClean Pad has been damaged or opened before use.
Do not reuse a previously used UrgoClean Pad.
Do not use previously cut pieces of UrgoClean Pad, as the sterile state is not maintained; any unused cut pieces of UrgoClean Pad dressing must be disposed of.
Do not re-sterilize.
Do not use beyond the expiry date.
The use of UrgoClean Pad beyond the expiry date or if the sterile condition has not been maintained before use or, in case of re-sterilization, does not guarantee its performance and exposes the patient to the risk of infection.
