Urinocol
Bag
Description
Medical device.
Sterile, low-density polyethylene (LDPE) mini adhesive bag, heat-sealed at the edges and latex-free, for urine collection in pediatrics and neonatology.
Available in male or female versions, with or without a drainage valve that can be connected to a syringe cone, for collecting a urine sample in optimal hygienic conditions, to avoid possible contamination.
Neonatology bag capacity 40 ml.
Instructions for use
Make sure that the bag size is appropriate for the child's weight. Wash your hands thoroughly, lay the child on their back with legs spread apart. Clean the skin thoroughly with water and appropriate detergents. Use antiseptic solutions only if necessary.
The skin must be dry, not covered with creams or powders, and must not show any irritation. Detach and remove the central disc, gently and completely remove the liner protecting the adhesive.
Apply the bag around the genitals, massaging gently to achieve complete adhesion. For bags equipped with a drainage device: before application, ensure that the drainage device is closed. The closing device has been specifically designed for direct sampling with a syringe and with connections for all types of fittings.
To remove the bag, lift one corner and peel off gently. To prevent spillage of collected urine, press the two adhesive flaps together and, if necessary, reinforce with a plaster.
To correctly perform biochemical, cytological or bacteriological tests, avoid leaving the bag in situ for more than 30 minutes, to avoid possible contamination of the urine (false positives).
Use a new bag even if the one in use is empty. Send the urine to the analysis laboratory within 2 hours of collection. If this is not possible, the sample must be stored in a refrigerator for no more than 12 hours. Indicate the collection time on the bag.
Depending on the amount of urine produced, replace the bag when necessary: replace in case of poor adhesion or in the presence of defects.
Warnings
Single-use: do not reuse.
Storage
Store at a temperature not lower than 0°C and not higher than 25°C.
Shelf life with intact packaging: 36 months.
Keep away from direct sources of light and heat.
