Mistick Antihistamine is a medicine for the local symptomatic treatment of insect bites and other localized skin irritations such as redness, burning, itching, and sunburn.
What you need to know before taking the medicine
Mistick Antihistamine is contraindicated in cases of:
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients or to other chemically related substances;
Eczema;
Weeping lesions.
Mistick Antihistamine is contraindicated in children under 2 years of age.
Warnings and precautions
Prolonged and inappropriate use of the medicine can lead to allergic sensitization phenomena, resulting in worsening of symptoms. If this occurs, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor consulted to establish appropriate therapy.
Since the application of Mistick Antihistamine can delay the healing process, the medicine should not be used for more than 3-4 consecutive days on lesions where such a phenomenon is occurring. In the case of sunburn, apply the medicine and avoid further sun exposure of the irritated skin. If skin rashes, irritation, and burning sensations occur, treatment should be discontinued.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, Mistick Antihistamine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Mistick Antihistamine can cause allergic reactions. The use of promethazine has been associated with photosensitivity reactions.
Applying a large amount of medicine to very extensive areas of the skin can cause drowsiness.
Following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects. If any of the side effects get serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, tell your doctor or pharmacist.
