Naaxia 49 mg/ml eye drops, solution
What it is and what it is used for
It is an eye drop solution.
It is used for the treatment of mild manifestations of acute and chronic allergic conjunctivitis and keratoconjunctivitis. Vernal conjunctivitis.
What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use Naaxia if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the sodium salt of spaglumic acid or any of the excipients of Naaxia.
Warnings and precautions
Clinical studies on the use of the product in children under four years of age are not yet available; therefore, Naaxia preservative-free eye drop solution should only be administered after careful evaluation by the doctor, considering both the potential risks and benefits of the therapy.
It is recommended not to inject or ingest the product.
In severe conjunctival allergies, anti-allergic eye drops containing N-acetyl aspartyl glutamic acid can be administered as a replacement for initial corticosteroid therapy.
Like other ophthalmic specialties for topical use, Naaxia preservative-free eye drop solution can be absorbed systemically.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.
No clinical studies have been conducted on confirmed or suspected pregnant women. Therefore, the product should only be prescribed after careful evaluation by the doctor, considering both the potential risks and benefits of the therapy. There is no data on the passage of the active ingredient into breast milk; however, breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, Naaxia preservative-free eye drop solution can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Occasionally, patients may experience a slight burning sensation after instillation; this phenomenon is short-lived and usually disappears with continued therapy. Possible stinging sensation after instillation.
Adherence to the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.
