Description
Medical device for ocular and periocular use, based on distilled echinacea and eyebright waters, with physiological pH and osmolality.
Sterile saline solution, with physiological pH, for ocular and periocular use.
A valid aid for the removal of periocular and ocular secretions in newborns from the first days of life, infants and children (i.e., from 0 to 6 years of age). The product can also be used by children over 6 years of age, adolescents, adults and the elderly (i.e., over 65 years).
Instillation of OCIO softens and washes away secretions present on the ocular surface, in the conjunctival fornices and on the eyelid margin.
OCIO has a diluting, decongestant and hydrating action by increasing tear volume.
OCIO contains distilled eyebright and echinacea waters which contribute to the wetting effect thanks to their hydrating action.
OCIO is compatible with soft contact lenses.

Instructions for use
1. Wash hands thoroughly.
2. Hold the bottle so that the finger used for dispensing (index or thumb) is well positioned on the dispenser and does not cover the nebulisation hole.
3. Hold the bottle vertically and apply firm pressure on the dispenser to nebulise the solution.
4. In case of direct dispensing into the eye, nebulise the product at a distance of about 10 cm from the eye.
5. When using for the first time, dispense several times into the air until regular nebulisation of the product is observed.
6. In case of storage at temperatures below 15 °C, if the product is intended for use on children, hold the bottle between your hands for a few minutes to bring the product to room temperature to avoid an unpleasant cold sensation for the child.
Use the product as follows:
- for rinsing the periocular area instead of conventional moist or soaked wipes: nebulise 1 or 2 sprays of solution onto a sterile gauze pad and use it to immediately and gently clean the area around the eyes, removing any secretions. Avoid rubbing hard but soften dry secretions with the soaked gauze until they can be removed. Use a different gauze pad for each eye;
- for rinsing the eye: nebulise 1 or 2 sprays of product into each eye, open or closed:
a. when nebulising with an open eye, the blinking resulting from the increased volume of lacrimal fluid allows the product to wash the surface of the eye, removing foreign particles along with the excess fluid;
b. when nebulising with a closed eye, the liquid trapped in the eyelid fissure, thanks to blinking, comes into contact with the ocular surface, increasing the volume of lacrimal fluid and thus allowing the product to wash the surface of the eye, removing foreign particles along with the excess fluid;
- to relieve discomfort or redness: nebulise 1 or 2 sprays of product into each eye.

Components
Sodium chloride (0.82%), vitamin E TPGS, distilled water of Echinacea pallida, distilled water of eyebright, zinc sulfate heptahydrate, citric acid monohydrate, trisodium citrate dihydrate, water for injections.

Warnings
Keep out of reach of children.
The product is for ophthalmic or periocular use only.
The product is single-patient.
The contents of the spray bottle can only be used by one person.
Do not use the product if the bottle is not perfectly closed and/or intact.
Do not tamper with or damage the bottle and its mechanisms.
Before using the product, it is advisable to wash hands thoroughly.
During use, do not touch the eye, or other surfaces, with the nebulisation surface of the dispenser.
Do not use the product in case of known incompatibility with even a single component of the formulation.
No interactions with drugs or other eye drops have been reported, in any case, allow at least 15 minutes to pass before administering any other eye drops.
In case of discomfort during use, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor.
OCIO does not replace any pharmacological therapy prescribed by the doctor.
The concomitant administration of drugs for ophthalmic use with the product must be carried out under the supervision of the doctor who can evaluate possible interactions and should be carried out at least 15 minutes after the nebulisation of the product.
Do not use the product after the expiry date indicated on the package.
For external use, do not swallow.
Do not dispose of the container in the environment after use.
Dispose of the product according to local waste management regulations.
Consult your doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Storage
Store at a temperature between 2 °C and 30 °C in a dry place, away from heat, avoiding direct exposure to sunlight.
Post-opening validity: 3 months.
