PediaPEG
powder
Description
Class IIa Medical Device (Directive 93/42/EEC).
With a laxative action that naturally regulates the intestine through an osmotic effect. It is neither absorbed nor fermented in the intestine, does not irritate the mucous membrane, and is eliminated in the feces in an unmodified form.
PediaPEG is particularly indicated for chronic constipation and in cases of occasionally irregular bowels. Thanks to its affinity for water, PediaPEG softens stools, facilitating evacuation without causing cramps or abdominal pain, or urgent conditions. Its effectiveness does not diminish over time.
Gluten and lactose-free.
Instructions for use
From 6 months to 2 years (up to 12 kg): 0.8 g of product per kg of body weight per day.
From 2 to 11 years (from 12 kg to 20 kg): 1 g of product per kg of body weight per day.
Above 11 years (or >20 kg): 10-30 g of product per day.
The dose can be increased or decreased depending on the individual response to treatment. The most appropriate daily dosage for each age group should be decided based on the child's weight and the severity of constipation. In any case, it is advisable to consult a doctor for the most correct dosage. Use the product in pediatric age children only after medical advice. The maximum necessary dose usually does not exceed 30 g of product per day.
According to the dosage, take the quantity of product using the measuring scoop with marks that allow dosing 0.5 g (first mark), 1 g (second mark), and 2 g (level scoop) of product. Warnings
Do not take PediaPEG in case of intestinal stenosis, intestinal perforation, inflammatory bowel diseases (such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis). Do not take in case of intestinal obstruction.
The oral suspension should be prepared at the time of intake. It is advisable not to take larger quantities than indicated, as higher doses may cause unexpected side effects. Do not use the product for more than 30 days; if symptoms persist, consult a doctor. Do not take in case of intolerance to the product. Do not take in case of known hypersensitivity to the components and Polyethylene glycol. Do not use in children under 6 months. During treatment with PediaPEG, it is advisable to follow an adequate diet, accompanied by the administration of an oral rehydration solution (ORS) to avoid dehydration; however, it is recommended to consult a doctor.
In case of overdose, severe pain, abdominal distension, diarrhea, and vomiting may occur, which could lead to electrolyte imbalance. Should adverse reactions occur, contact your doctor immediately.
Gastrointestinal disturbances, borborygmus, abdominal pain, nausea, and mild diarrhea may appear (especially at the beginning). Hypersensitivity reactions and allergic reactions (skin rash, hives) rarely occur. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if adverse reactions occur, even if they are different from those listed.
