BUONA
PEGinpol
Description
Medical device in powder for extemporaneous oral suspension useful in the treatment of constipation. It is particularly indicated for chronic constipation and in cases of occasionally irregular bowels.
PEGinpol is a laxative medical device that, through an osmotic action, naturally regulates the intestine. Thanks to its affinity for water, PEGinpol softens the stool, facilitating evacuation without causing cramps, abdominal pain, or urgent conditions. It is neither absorbed nor fermented in the intestine, does not irritate the mucous membrane, and is eliminated in the feces in an unmodified form. Its effectiveness does not diminish over time.
Ingredients
Macrogol 3350; excipients: silicon dioxide, flavor, sodium saccharin.
Does not contain gluten or lactose.
Instructions for use
From 6 months to 2 years (up to 12 kg): 0.8 g of product per kg of body weight per day.
From 2 to 11 years (from 12 kg to 20 kg): 1 g of product per kg of body weight per day.
Above 11 years (or > 20 kg): 10-30 g of product per day.
The dose can be increased or decreased depending on the individual response to the treatment. The most appropriate daily dosage for each age group should be decided based on the child's weight and the severity of the constipation. In any case, it is advisable to consult a doctor for the correct dosage. Use the product in pediatric age only after medical advice.
The maximum necessary dose normally does not exceed 30 g of product per day. Based on the dosage indicated above, take the quantity of product using the measuring scoop with notches that allow dosing 0.5 g (first notch), 1 g (second notch) and 2 g (level scoop) of product. Dissolve a level scoop (equal to 2 g) in approximately 1/4 glass of water (about 25 ml). Drink the reconstituted solution. The daily dose can be divided into multiple administrations. The product can be reconstituted in advance in the appropriate volume of water and the solution stored in the refrigerator, covered, for up to 24 hours. It is advisable to take PEGinpol away from meals.
Warnings
The oral suspension should be prepared at the time of administration.
It is advisable not to take quantities greater than those indicated, as higher doses may cause unexpected side effects.
Do not use PEGinpol for more than 30 consecutive days; if symptoms persist, consult a doctor.
Do not take in case of intolerance to the product.
Do not take in case of known hypersensitivity to the components and to Polyethylene glycol.
