PeriNERV

Food supplement based on α-lipoic acid (thioctic acid), conjugated linoleic acid, echinacea, quercetin, vitamins, selenium and zinc. The active ingredients of this complex are useful adjuvants in states of neuronal suffering by protecting cells from oxidative stress. It can be used as an adjuvant in all neurological syndromes with hyperoxidative reactions that manifest with nervous excitability disorders and altered nervous trophism, in cases of peripheral neuropathies.
       α-Lipoic Acid
A fat-soluble coenzyme with antioxidant action. The two active forms in which it is present, both in the aqueous phase (cytoplasm) and in the lipid phase (membrane) of the cells, are easily interconvertible through redox reactions. It has shown marked neuroprotective and endothelium-protective properties, defending nerves from neurovascular damage and acting on the microvascular endothelium by counteracting degeneration and damage caused by free radicals. In subjects with altered glucose metabolism, it prevents protein glycation damage and, through physiological metabolic processes, contributes to the normalization of blood glucose levels. It promotes ATP synthesis and the regeneration of well-known antioxidants such as glutathione, vitamin C and vitamin E.
       Conjugated Linoleic Acid
Modulates the synthesis of arachidonic acid and pro-inflammatory molecules, such as thromboxanes, leukotrienes and some prostaglandins, and has a neuroprotective action against glutamate-induced toxicity.
       Echinacea
A medicinal plant with immunomodulating properties, particularly at the level of polymorphonuclear granulocytes and monocyte-macrophages.
       Quercetin
A bioflavonoid that has antispasmodic and immunomodulating action; it modulates the action of numerous enzymes involved in inflammatory responses by blocking the release of mediators, such as histamine, by mast cells and basophils, reduces activated neutrophils, and stabilizes the membrane. A powerful antioxidant, it neutralizes free radicals, inhibits the production phases of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins and leukotrienes, as well as the enzymes phospholipase A2 and lipoxygenase. Quercetin strongly inhibits the aldose reductase enzyme, a catalyst for the formation of certain substances associated with diabetes complications (cataracts, retinopathy, peripheral neuropathies).
       Selenium
It is a structural component of PHGPX and numerous enzymes with antioxidant function.
       Zinc
It is involved in protein formation, in some hormonal and nervous system functions, in growth processes and tissue damage repair, and in immune defense.
       Vitamins E and C
They are recognized antioxidants: vitamin E captures free radicals and neutralizes them; vitamin C participates in redox reactions and prolongs the action of vitamin E.
