PLAK OUT 0.12% Solution
Chlorhexidine digluconate

What it is and what it is used for
Plak Out contains chlorhexidine digluconate, a local oral disinfectant that acts on the oral mucosa.

Plak Out is indicated for disinfecting the mouth, gums and throat of adults in cases of difficult oral hygiene.

Consult your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after a short period of treatment.

What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use Plak Out
- if you are allergic to chlorhexidine digluconate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).

Warnings and precautions
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using Plak Out.

The use, especially prolonged use, of products for local use may give rise to allergic reactions (see section "Possible side effects"). In this case, stop the treatment and consult your doctor, who will institute appropriate therapy.

Use Plak Out exclusively for local use; do not ingest.

If you have accidentally swallowed or inhaled this medicine, contact your doctor or the nearest hospital, as the accidental ingestion or inhalation of some disinfectants can have serious, sometimes fatal, consequences (see section 3 "If you take more Plak Out than you should").

Avoid contact with eyes.

The medicine is not contraindicated for subjects suffering from celiac disease.
For athletes
Plak Out contains ethyl alcohol, which may lead to positive doping tests in relation to the blood alcohol concentration limits indicated by some sports federations.

Children and adolescents
This medicine should be used only if strictly necessary and after consulting a doctor.

Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

The following side effects have been reported:

- slight alteration of taste (after rinsing)
- slight yellowish staining on the tongue and teeth, due to continuous use at high doses.
Tongue staining disappears by reducing the frequency and duration of rinses, while a good toothpaste is sufficient to eliminate enamel pigmentation.

Reporting of side effects
If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet. You can also report side effects directly via the national reporting system at: https://www.aifa.gov.it/content/segnalazionireazioni-avverse.
By reporting side effects, you can help provide more information on the safety of this medicine.
