PODOVAL UR 50
Podiatric line
Smoothing kerato-reducing cream
Description
Cream with 50% lipostabilized pure urea. It is a keratolytic and exfoliating treatment for localized skin thickening of the foot (heels, nails, calluses), facilitating their subsequent mechanical removal. It is non-greasy and is rapidly absorbed by the skin. Its innovative formula also provides a refreshing and emollient action. Urea is an organic compound which, when used topically, can have, depending on the concentration used, a moisturizing or keratolytic effect. The moisturizing effect is achieved by using low concentrations and is due to an increase in water binding sites in the stratum corneum and a reduction in trans-epidermal water dispersion. The kerato-reducing and keratolytic effect, on the other hand, is achieved at higher concentrations (30-50%) and the mechanism appears to be the alteration, through the breaking of hydrogen bonds, of the quaternary structure of the keratin in the stratum corneum. Urea is thus able to denature and disperse keratin and thin the stratum corneum without damaging the skin barrier.
Instructions for use
Apply 1 or 2 times a day after cleaning the affected area.
Components
Contains 50% lipostabilized pure urea.
Warnings
Cosmetic for external use. Keep out of reach of children under 3 years of age.
