TONOGEN VITAMINICO
“Oral solution”

What it is and what it is used for
Tonogen Vitaminico is a complex of vitamins (nicotinamide, riboflavin-5'-phosphate sodium salt, thiamine hydrochloride, cyanocobalamin) that are fundamental for the body's metabolic activities. This medicine also contains calcium folinate hydrate, which provides the body with folic acid, a vitamin used to treat all folate deficiency syndromes, which mainly manifest as anaemia.

This medicine is indicated for the treatment of:
- vitamin deficiencies (hypodisvitaminosis) that usually occur during therapy with medicines used for the treatment of infections (antibiotics, chemotherapy) and tumours (anti-cancer drugs);
- reduction in the number of red blood cells in the blood (anaemic syndromes secondary to vitamin B12 and folic acid deficiency) also during pregnancy, in the postpartum period (puerperium) and during breastfeeding (see the paragraph “pregnancy and breastfeeding”);
- reduction in the number of red blood cells in the blood (anaemic states) in children and adolescents, especially if accompanied by loss of appetite (anorexia) and insufficient growth.

Tonogen Vitaminico is also indicated as an adjuvant in the treatment of infectious states (toxinfections), liver problems (post-hepatitis, functional liver deficit) and during the period following surgery, illness or trauma (convalescence).

Consult your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after a few days.

What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not take Tonogen Vitaminico if you are allergic to nicotinamide, riboflavin-5'-phosphate sodium salt, thiamine hydrochloride, cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12), calcium folinate hydrate or any of the other components of this medicine (listed in paragraph 6).

Warnings and precautions
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking Tonogen Vitaminico.
If you suffer from a severe blood disorder (pernicious anaemia) and your doctor has prescribed cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12) to be administered by intramuscular or intravenous injection (parenteral route), do not interrupt this therapy during treatment with Tonogen Vitaminico.

Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them.

Gastrointestinal disturbances (gastric intolerance) are very rare.
