Salicylic acid
What it is and what it is used for
TRANS-VER-SAL is a patch for skin application that contains salicylic acid. Salicylic acid belongs to a group of medicines that work by removing the most superficial layers of the skin, thus accelerating its natural turnover.
TRANS-VER-SAL is indicated for the treatment of:
• common warts (skin formations caused by a viral infection, characterised by the same skin colour and a typical rough surface);
• calluses and corns (widespread thickening and hardening of the superficial layer of the skin, with or without pain due to compression or friction).
What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use TRANS-VER-SAL
• if you are allergic to salicylic acid or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);
• if you have diabetes (a condition characterised by increased blood glucose);
• if you suffer from circulatory insufficiency (inability of the heart and circulation to meet the body's demands);
• on the face, ano-genital area, and mucous membranes;
• on moles, seborrheic warts, and condylomas.
