Idroflog

Description
Ophthalmic solution containing sodium hyaluronate which, thanks to its mucomimetic and pseudoplastic properties, distributes evenly over the ocular surface, forming a protective viscoelastic bandage. In this way, by exerting a mechanical action ("barrier effect"), IDROFLOG stabilizes the tear film and reduces the friction caused by eye movements and blinking, protects the eye surface by promoting repair processes resulting from damage to corneal epithelial cells due to hyposecretion of the tear film. In fact, in cases where the glands responsible for secreting the tear film reduce their normal activity—due to various factors—the corneal surface remains more exposed to external insults. Over time, these insults cause malfunction of corneal epithelial cells, associated with the risk of bothersome inflammatory processes. The application of the IDROFLOG bandage protects the corneal surface from exposure to external insults and, thanks to the ancillary action of Hydrocortisone Sodium Phosphate (a low-dose cortisone agent with low anti-inflammatory power and short duration of action), helps prevent the risk of possible recurrences of inflammatory phenomena. IDROFLOG is intended for limited use and, in any case, under the direct supervision of a specialist doctor. Finally, thanks to its particular saline composition, IDROFLOG restores and maintains physiological levels of important ions, such as sodium, potassium, and magnesium, essential for the well-being of the ocular surface. The device does not contain preservatives.

Instructions for use
It should be dosed individually according to your condition and based on the recommendations of your ophthalmologist. Generally, instill 1-2 drops of the solution into the conjunctival sac of the eye to be treated, 2-4 times a day. The total duration of treatment is 2-6 months but must be specifically determined by the specialist doctor and, in any case, under their direct supervision (a follow-up every 30-45 days is recommended).
Open the bottle by removing the protective tab. Remove the cap. By pressing on the inverted bottle, instill 1-2 drops of IDROFLOG into the conjunctival sac, letting them fall from above. Always close the bottle with its cap after use. Do not damage or disassemble the bottle and do not damage or mechanically block the dropper orifice. IDROROFLOG can also be used while wearing contact lenses.

Components
Sodium hyaluronate 2 mg/ml, hydrocortisone sodium phosphate 10 mcg/ml, trisodium citrate, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, magnesium chloride, disodium phosphate, monosodium phosphate, purified water.

Warnings
Hypersensitivity to the components or other chemically related substances. In concomitance with viral contamination of the ocular surface, keratitis ulcers, ocular mycosis, purulent conjunctivitis, purulent and herpetic blepharitis, styes. Generally contraindicated during pregnancy, lactation, and in pediatric age.
Due to its viscoelastic properties, the product may cause temporary blurred vision upon instillation. Wait until this effect has subsided before driving vehicles or operating machinery.
IDROFLOG is for external use only. IDROFLOG should not be used immediately before the administration of medicinal products for curative purposes, and within twenty minutes after the application of any topical pharmacological therapy. If symptoms in the eyes worsen during treatment, contact your doctor. Prolonged use can cause inconvenience: the total duration of treatment must be determined by the ophthalmologist. In cases where an inflammatory process is already underway, the specialist doctor will decide on the appropriate anti-inflammatory therapy to restore the physiological conditions of the ocular surface. To reduce the risk of contamination, each bottle should be used by only one person. Wash hands thoroughly before use. Avoid direct contact of the dropper tip with fingers, the eye, contact lens, or any other surface. Also, avoid the dropper coming into contact with dirt or dust.
In rare cases, slight blurred vision has been observed upon instillation, which is due to the viscosity of the solution. A slight burning sensation may occur during instillation. This sensation, however, is destined to disappear. Contact an ophthalmologist if symptoms persist. Adhering to the instructions in the leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.
Do not use IDROFLOG after the expiry date indicated on the package. The expiry date refers to the product intact and correctly stored. Do not use IDROFLOG if the bottle is damaged. Keep out of sight and reach of children. IDROFLOG should be used under the advice of a specialist doctor. In case of any incidents, it is necessary to report them to the Manufacturer, the Notified Body, and the Competent Authorities.
