Cistasi
IndicationsAdjuvant in the prevention of hair loss and strengthening of the restructuring of skin appendages (nails and hair).
Properties
- Serenoa Repens (100 mg): its active ingredient is Betasitosterol, an inhibitor of both 5-alpha reductase type 2 and the cytosolic receptor for dihydrotestosterone. At the prostatic level, it has a strong antiestrogenic effect, due to a significant decrease in estrogen receptors, with an anti-inflammatory and anti-edematous action. In androgen metabolism at the hair follicle level, the blockage of 5-alpha reductase type 2 leads to a decrease in the amount of dihydrotestosterone responsible for hair follicle atrophy.
- Phytoestrogens (12.5 mg): useful in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia and have two types of action: hormone-like and non-hormonal. They possess antioxidant activity with a mild anti-inflammatory and antihypertensive action. They can prevent cardiovascular diseases by reducing triglycerides, LDL-cholesterol, and total cholesterol, and slow down the process of atherosclerosis through their antioxidant action and by reducing platelet aggregation. They would also exert an antineoplastic action and prevent neoangiogenesis, which is important for tumor growth. They are also important in preventing the onset of osteoporosis.
- Green Tea (50 mg): contains proteins, soluble glucosides, vitamins, minerals, purines (caffeine, theophylline, and theobromine), polyphenols, and carotenoids. Polyphenols have strong antioxidant activity and are capable of inhibiting RUV-induced erythema by reducing local prostaglandin production. Purines stimulate the nervous and circulatory systems, promote respiration, and have a mild diuretic action. Tannins have an astringent, antidiarrheal, and anti-inflammatory action. Green tea catechins (epigallocatechin 3 gallate and epicatechin 3 gallate) are potent inhibitors of type 1 5-alpha reductase and can modulate androgen action in target organs.
- Cystine (200 mg): a sulfur-containing amino acid essential in the keratinization process. There is a correlation between cystine and vitamin B6: in B6 deficiency, the blood level of cystine decreases.
- Methionine (25 mg): a sulfur-containing amino acid used in keratinization therapy, can be converted to cystine in the presence of B12 and folic acid.
- Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine, pyridoxal, and pyridoxamine): is converted in cells to pyridoxal phosphate, which serves as a coenzyme for a large number of enzymatic reactions at the hepatic, cutaneous, and cerebral levels.
- Zinc (2 mg): an essential element for body growth, involved in cellular repair processes, immune response, as a cofactor in many enzymatic reactions catalyzed by metalloenzymes, and involved in collagen synthesis.
- Copper (0.5 mg): involved in keratinization processes by catalyzing the oxidation of cysteine to cystine with the formation of disulfide bonds, essential in the conversion of tyrosine to dihydroxyphenylalanine in melanin synthesis in the hair follicle, involved in the mitochondrial respiratory chain, important for the activity of many enzymes such as cytochrome C oxidase, superoxide dismutase, involved in hemoglobin formation. It stimulates collagen production, glycosaminoglycans and positively influences the metabolism of hair follicles, inhibiting, as an ion, 5-alpha reductase.
