Allespray 1mg/ml nasal spray, solution
Azelastine hydrochloride
What it is and what it is used for
Allespray contains the active ingredient azelastine hydrochloride, which belongs to a group of medicines called antihistamines.
Allespray is indicated for adults and children aged six years and over for the short-term treatment of symptoms of allergic rhinitis (allergic cold).
Consult your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after a short period of treatment.
What you need to know before taking this medicine
Do not use Allespray:
- if you are allergic to azelastine hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);
- in children under 6 years of age, during pregnancy and breastfeeding (see section Pregnancy and Breastfeeding).
Warnings and precautions
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking Allespray. Consult your doctor if your symptoms persist or worsen during treatment.
Use only for short periods of treatment.
Children
Allespray should not be used in children under 6 years of age.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
During treatment with this medicine, you may experience the following side effects, which are generally transient. If they occur, contact your doctor or pharmacist:
• bitter taste in the mouth, especially if you tilt your head back when using the nasal spray;
• irritation of the nasal mucosa with possible bleeding, in rare cases.
