Nimesulide

What it is and what it is used for
The name of this medicine is Aulin Gel. It contains the active ingredient nimesulide, which belongs to a group of substances with anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects (NSAIDs).

Aulin gel is used to relieve pain and swelling due to:
• soft tissue injuries (sprains, injuries with bleeding);
• tendon injuries known as acute traumatic tendinitis.
Consult your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 7 days.

What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use Aulin Gel:
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to nimesulide or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in paragraph 6);
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs);
- if you are under 12 years of age;
- if you are in the last trimester of pregnancy.

Do not use Aulin Gel if you have any of the above conditions. If you are not sure, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using the medicine.

Warnings and precautions
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using Aulin Gel:
- if you suffer from asthma;
- if you suffer from severe liver, kidney or heart disorders;
- if you have stomach bleeding or ulcers;
- if you have clotting problems;
- if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Children and adolescents
Aulin gel should not be used in children under 12 years of age.

Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them. Side effects are generally mild.

Stop applications and consult your doctor immediately if you experience an allergic reaction:
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction include swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, or difficulty breathing.
Stop applications if you experience any of the following side effects:
• Itching, skin redness or skin rash (these side effects are common and affect less than one in ten people).
