StitiCol
Description
Symptomatic treatment of constipation. It promotes peristalsis, helping to ensure adequate bowel movements, thus combating constipation and preventing the formation of fecal impactions.
Ingredients
Macrogol 4000, sucralose.
Gluten-free and lactose-free.
Directions for use
Recommended for adults and children over 12 years of age: 1 to 4 sachets per day.
The dose should be increased or decreased, depending on the individual response to treatment, to allow for regular soft stool evacuation. The maximum necessary dose does not normally exceed 4 sachets per day. Dissolve the powder in water or other liquid (125 ml for each sachet) and take immediately. It is recommended to administer the product in the morning if the minimum dose is to be taken (1 sachet per day). For larger doses, divide the intake between morning and evening.
If no improvement is observed after 7 days of treatment, consult a doctor.
Warnings
Administration to children must be carried out under the direct supervision of an adult.
Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
Do not use if the package is open or damaged.
The product may reduce the transit time in the intestine and therefore the absorption of oral medicines. It is therefore advisable to consult a doctor if oral medicines are being taken at the same time; these should in any case be administered at least 2 hours apart.
The product may have a potential interaction effect when used with starch-based food thickeners. Macrogol counteracts the thickening effect of starch, liquefying preparations that should otherwise remain thick to allow ingestion by people with swallowing difficulties.
In case of adverse reactions, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor.
Do not take Stiticol Sachet Powder in case of:
- known hypersensitivity to one or more components;
- paralytic ileus;
- intestinal perforation, obstruction or stenosis;
- severe inflammatory bowel diseases (e.g., ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, toxic megacolon).
The use of laxatives is contraindicated in cases of acute or unknown abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, rectal bleeding of unknown origin, and in cases of severe dehydration.
Some gastrointestinal disturbances may occur (stomach ache, flatulence, abdominal bloating, nausea and fecal incontinence). Diarrhea is a side effect of taking excessive doses of Stiticol Sachet Powder and can be avoided by reducing the dose.
Cases of hypersensitivity reactions (skin rash) following the use of products containing Macrogol have rarely been reported. In such cases, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor.
Keep out of reach and sight of children. The expiry date refers to the product stored correctly.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, away from light and heat sources.
Shelf life with intact packaging: 36 months.
Format
Pack containing 20 sachets.
