Tamarine 80 mg/g + 3.9 mg/g jam
cassia angustifolia+cassia fistula

What it is and what it is used for
Tamarine contains the active ingredients cassia angustifolia and cassia fistula, which have a laxative effect.

Tamarine is indicated for the short-term treatment of occasional constipation.

Consult your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 7 days.

What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not take Tamarine if you are allergic to cassia angustifolia, cassia fistula or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in paragraph 6);
• if you have diabetes;
• if you have acute abdominal pain or pain of unknown origin;
• if you have nausea or vomiting;
• if you have an intestinal obstruction or narrowing;
• if you have rectal bleeding of unknown origin;
• if you have severe dehydration;
• if you are pregnant or breastfeeding (see paragraph "Pregnancy and breastfeeding");
• in children under 10 years of age.

Warnings and precautions
Consult your pharmacist before taking Tamarine.

The treatment of chronic or recurrent constipation always requires the intervention of a doctor for diagnosis, prescription of medicines, and supervision during treatment.

Consult your doctor:
• if you are an elderly patient;
• if your health conditions are not good;
• if the need for the medicine is due to a sudden change in your bowel habits (frequency and characteristics of bowel movements) that has lasted for more than two weeks;
• if the medicine does not produce effects.

Important information:
Frequent, prolonged, or excessive use of laxatives can cause persistent diarrhea with consequent loss of water, mineral salts, and other essential nutrients.
In more severe cases, dehydration or a decrease in blood potassium may occur, which can cause heart, nerve, and muscle problems, especially when treated concomitantly with cardiac glycosides (heart medicines), diuretics (medicines that stimulate urine elimination), or corticosteroids (hormonal medicines) (see paragraph Other medicines and Tamarine).

Laxative abuse can cause dependence (i.e., the need to progressively increase the dose), chronic constipation, and loss of normal bowel functions.

Keep in mind that, in most cases, a balanced diet rich in water and fiber (bran, vegetables, and fruit) can solve the problem of constipation.
Many people think they suffer from constipation if they do not have a bowel movement every day. This is a misconception as this situation is quite normal for a large number of individuals.
Constipation can be spoken of when bowel movements are reduced compared to one's personal habits and are associated with the passage of hard stools.
Consult your doctor if episodes of constipation occur repeatedly.

Children
Tamarine should not be administered to children under 10 years of age.
