Vitamin A + Vitamin E

What it is and what it is used for
Tocalfa soft capsules belong to the therapeutic category of vitamin-based products containing vitamins A+E.
This medicine is used in cases of vitamin A+E deficiency.

Consult your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after a period of treatment.

What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not take Tocalfa:
- if you are allergic to vitamin A and/or vitamin E or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);
- if you are pregnant (see Pregnancy and breastfeeding);
- this medicine contains soybean oil. If you are allergic to peanuts or soy, do not use this medicine.

Warnings and precautions
Consult your doctor before taking Tocalfa if any of the following apply to you:
- you have heart problems (heart failure); because an adjustment of the dose of digitalis (a medicine used in the treatment of heart failure) may be necessary;
- you have high blood glucose levels (diabetes) because an adjustment of the dose of insulin (a medicine used in the treatment of diabetes) may be necessary.

Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
With continuous and high-dose administration, signs and symptoms of hypervitaminosis A may appear, such as:
• eating disorders (anorexia);
• skin disorders;
• enlargement of the liver and spleen (hepatosplenomegaly).
