Description
Medical device indicated for the symptomatic treatment of constipation. It promotes peristalsis, helping to ensure adequate bowel movements, thus counteracting constipation and preventing the formation of fecal impaction. It also facilitates the elimination of intestinal gases, reducing the feeling of bloating and abdominal distension. Agpeg esse comes as a powder for oral solution.
Macrogol is an inert, water-soluble, high molecular weight polymer that has the ability to bind to the water used for ingestion, retaining it in the feces. It rehydrates and softens the fecal mass and facilitates its evacuation. It accelerates intestinal transit by promoting peristalsis. It is not absorbed or metabolized in the gastrointestinal tract and does not lead to hydro-electrolytic imbalances when taken with the indicated dose of liquid. Simethicone is a substance that has the ability to reduce the surface tension of gas bubbles present in the gastrointestinal tract, facilitating their expulsion.

How to use
Adults and children over 12 years of age (>43 kg)
- 1 to 4 sachets per day.
The dose should be increased or decreased, depending on the individual response to treatment, to allow regular evacuation of soft stools. The maximum necessary dose normally does not exceed 4 sachets per day. Dissolve the powder in water or other liquid (125 ml per sachet) and take immediately. It is recommended to administer the product in the morning if the minimum dose (1 sachet per day) is to be taken. For larger doses, divide the intake between morning and evening.

Warnings
Do not take Agpeg esse in case of known hypersensitivity to macrogol or other components, perforation, intestinal obstruction or stenosis, paralytic ileus, severe inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and toxic megacolon. The use of laxatives is contraindicated in cases of acute abdominal pain or pain of unknown origin, nausea and vomiting, rectal bleeding of unknown origin, and in cases of severe dehydration.
Some gastrointestinal disturbances may occur (stomach ache, flatulence, abdominal bloating, nausea, and fecal incontinence). Diarrhea is a side effect of taking excessive doses of Agpeg esse and can be avoided by reducing the dose. Cases of hypersensitivity reactions (skin rash) have rarely been reported following the use of products containing macrogol. In such cases, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor.
It is recommended to use the product in pediatric age after consulting a doctor. Administration in children must be carried out under the direct supervision of an adult. Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package. Do not use if the package is open or damaged. Do not exceed the maximum daily dose. Keep the product or the resulting solution out of the reach of children. If no improvement is observed after 7 days of treatment, it is recommended to consult a doctor. The product can reduce the residence time in the intestine and thus the absorption of oral medications. Therefore, it is advisable to consult a doctor if oral medications are taken concomitantly, which should in any case be administered at least 2 hours apart. In case of undesirable reactions, even if different from those listed, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor.
