Description
Medical device.
Sterile single-use saline solution for washing wounds, sores, abrasions, burns.
Indicated for: - irrigation and washing during surgical interventions;
- for moistening dressings, tissues and clothing;
- for cleaning and rinsing urinary catheters, stomas, instruments and equipment;
- for filling breathing air humidifiers.

Instructions for use
The amount of solution to be used varies depending on the case.

Components
1,000 ml of solution contain:
- sodium chloride in water p.p.i. 9.00 g;
- electrolytes (mmol/l): Na+ 154, Cl- 154.

Warnings
Not for injection. Avoid exposing the product to direct sunlight.
Overdosing during wound irrigation and intraoperative application can lead to absorption of the irrigation solution, which in turn can cause hypervolemia in the form of hypotonic hyperhydration (hyponatremia).
Headache, nausea, restlessness, and disorientation are symptoms of hyperhydration. In severe cases, coma-like states can occur.
Interventions in case of overdose: discontinue irrigation, correct fluid and electrolyte balance according to the specific clinical situation.
Do not use for infusions. Use only if the seal is intact and the solution is clear. Store in closed containers; any residual quantities must be disposed of. Reusing single-use devices creates a potential risk for both the patient and the operator. It can cause contamination and/or reduction in device functionality, which can lead to injury, illness, or death of the patient. Keep out of reach of children. Where there is a risk of absorption of large quantities of solution, as in the case of use in large cavities or on extensive lesions, do not use on patients in a state of hyperhydration.
In such situations, it should be used with caution in patients with:
– hypertonic dehydration;
– hypokalemia;
– hypernatremia;
– hyperchloremia;
– disorders where limited sodium intake is indicated, such as heart failure, generalized edema, pulmonary edema, hypertension, eclampsia, severe renal failure.
NaCl 0.9% B. Braun should not be used for intrathecal irrigation procedures.

Storage
Store between -25°C and +55°C, with humidity between 10% and 90%.
Shelf life in unopened packaging: 36 months.
