Description
Acmed™ New 20% azelaic acid, effective for acne patients of all types, both in the acute phase and in maintenance therapy, with a greater tolerability profile compared to benzoyl peroxide.
Azelaic acid is now considered one of the most effective substances for treating acne vulgaris, especially in mild to moderate forms, but also rosacea. As shown by its multiple actions on the skin, its anti-acne and anti-comedogenic action (against blackheads and pimples typical of acne), well documented by numerous clinical studies, is due to:
- antibacterial properties (especially against Propionibacterium acnes);
- inhibitory activity against keratinocyte proliferation;
- anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity (against free radicals);
- activity in reducing the content of free fatty acids in skin surface lipids (less oily skin);
- depigmenting action, useful for effectively counteracting skin spots due to acne.
Compared to other topical treatments used for acne, azelaic acid is not photosensitizing, so it can also be used in the summer months.
The first results can be observed after two months of treatment but, normally, it is essential to continue applying the cream to achieve complete remission of the signs and symptoms of acne.

How to use
Wash the area to be treated (such as face, chest or back). Apply the product with a light massage. Do not rinse the treated area. Wash hands after application. It is recommended to apply the product 1-2 times a day for up to 12 weeks.

Warnings
Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of fresh water. For external use only. Keep out of reach of children. For any information or doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature below 28°C, away from heat sources.
Shelf life of unopened package: 48 months.
