What it is and what it is used for
Antireumina contains three active ingredients: acetylsalicylic acid and paracetamol, which have pain-relieving, fever-reducing, and anti-inflammatory effects, and caffeine, a mild stimulant that enhances the pain-relieving effects of the first two compounds.
Antireumina is indicated for headaches and other types of pain such as neuralgia, toothache, menstrual pain, and joint pain. Antireumina is effective in reducing fever and alleviating the symptoms of common colds.

What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use Antireumina:
- If you are allergic to acetylsalicylic acid, paracetamol, or caffeine, or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
- In the third trimester of pregnancy.
- In children and adolescents under sixteen years of age.

If you suffer or have suffered from:
- Documented bleeding tendency.
- Documented presence of ulcers in the stomach or duodenum.
- Favism (a hereditary disease characterized by a deficiency of the enzyme called glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase).
- Severe hemolytic anemia (anemia due to the destruction of red blood cells).
- Severe liver dysfunction.
- Asthma.

Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Antireumina. In particular, consult your doctor if:
• You often have stomach or intestinal problems.
• You are taking other medicines containing paracetamol, because paracetamol, when taken at high doses, can cause serious side effects.
• You intend to become pregnant, because the use of this medicine is not recommended.
• You have fertility problems, or are undergoing fertility investigations, as treatment must be interrupted.
• You are being treated with other anti-inflammatory drugs.
• You suffer from severe liver and kidney diseases.
• You are over 70 years of age and are undergoing concomitant therapies.

Do not use the medicine for more than 3 consecutive days without consulting your doctor.
In case of allergic reactions, stop treatment and inform your doctor immediately.

Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.

Hearing disorders (tinnitus, etc.), dizziness, and hemorrhages, especially from the nasal mucosa ("epistaxis") and gums, have also been reported.
With the use of paracetamol, skin reactions of various types and severity, including allergic reactions, have been reported, including cases of erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, and epidermal necrolysis, disorders that involve various degrees of widespread skin redness, blistering of the skin, detachment of part of the skin with general malaise. Hypersensitivity reactions such as angioedema (i.e., localized and self-limiting swelling under the skin and mucous membranes), laryngeal edema (swelling of the throat with a feeling of obstruction), and anaphylactic shock (a severe, rapidly developing allergic reaction that can also be fatal) have also been reported. In addition, the following side effects have been reported: reduction in platelet count (blood cells that facilitate coagulation) and leukocytes (white blood cells), anemia, agranulocytosis (disappearance or reduction of particular white blood cells called granulocytes), impaired liver function and hepatitis, kidney disorders with the possible appearance of blood in the urine, and gastrointestinal disorders.
