Chondroitin sulfate is a macromolecule belonging to the glycosaminoglycan category, and together with hyaluronic acid and proteoglycans, they are important structural constituents of the extracellular matrix, which supports connective tissues such as cartilage, tendons, muscles, and bones. The formula is completed by hydrolyzed collagen, one of the most important and representative structural proteins in our body, and vitamin D. Vitamin D is involved in bone mineralization and, above all, facilitates the absorption of calcium and phosphorus into bone tissue. It also contributes to the maintenance of muscle tissues and participates in numerous regulatory and modulatory processes of the immune system's defense. There are several types of collagen, and type II, being composed of wider and thicker fibers, is predominantly found in the joints where it performs its function. Over time, the wear and tear of cartilage and tendons and the slowing down of the endogenous synthesis of some important structural substances of connective tissues, such as collagen itself, can lead to osteoarticular stiffness. This is why it is important to supplement the daily diet with a booster of targeted, bioavailable, and useful substances in case of deficiency or increased daily need.
