What it is and what it is used for
CELLUVISC contains carmellose sodium, a substance belonging to a group of medicines called artificial tears.

CELLUVISC is an ophthalmic humectant and lubricant.
It is useful for dry eyes caused by alterations in the stability of the tear film.
Contact your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse.

What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use CELLUVISC:
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to carmellose sodium or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).

Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using CELLUVISC.

• Before each application, remove contact lenses and reapply them after 15 minutes.
• To avoid contamination or possible eye injuries, do not let the open end of the single-dose container touch your eyes or anything else.
• If irritation, pain, redness, or changes in vision occur, or if you believe your condition is worsening, stop taking this medicine and consult your doctor or pharmacist. It is also advisable to consult your doctor if these disorders have occurred in the past.

Once opened, the product should not be reused.

Children and adolescents
The safety and efficacy of CELLUVISC in children and adolescents has not been established.

Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

The following side effects may occur with CELLUVISC:

Common side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10 people):
- eye irritation including burning;
- discomfort.

Post-Marketing Data (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data):
The following side effects have been reported since CELLUVISC was marketed:
- allergic reactions (including eye or eyelid swelling);
- sticky eyes;
- eye pain;
- eye itching;
- crusts and/or medicine residue on the eyelid;
- feeling of having something foreign in the eyes;
- redness of the eye/eyelid;
- blurred vision and/or worsening of vision;
- increased tearing of the eye;
- injury to the surface of the eye due to the tip of the vial touching the eye during use.

These side effects are generally transient. However, if they occur, it is advisable to consult your doctor or pharmacist.
