CE medical device. Self-adhesive eye patch used in orthoptic therapy for amblyopia and strabismus.
• Adhesive: hypoallergenic adhesive free of natural rubber latex and solvents, suitable for children's particularly delicate and sensitive skin. Removal is comfortable and prevents trauma, even with prolonged use.
• Support in 100% colored cotton non-woven fabric that allows skin to breathe, prevents sweating, and offers high comfort. The shape of the eye patch optimally adapts to the anatomy of the periorbital area.
• Central pad composed of a very thin trilaminated material with a black light-absorbing screen inside that prevents light from filtering in from the outside.
• Shape: the patch's shape is elongated in the area where it adheres to the nasal bridge, allowing eyeglasses to be worn correctly while using the eye patch. The eyeglasses are well-aligned, preventing blurring and discomfort for the patient. The elongated shape of the patch prevents lateral light filtration. This attribute of ORTOPAD prevents abnormal movement of the eye muscles which can lead to a worsening of the condition. The incisions in the area of adhesion to the nasal septum effectively prevent the formation of wrinkles on the patch that could lead to premature detachment of the eye patch and a reduction in comfort during orthoptic therapy.
