CETILSAN 0.2% Cutaneous solution
Cetylpyridinium chloride
What it is and what it is used for
CETILSAN is a solution to be applied to the skin containing cetylpyridinium, a medicine that acts as a disinfectant (antiseptic) against microbes (bacteria) present on the skin. It is indicated for disinfecting the skin even in the presence of small superficial wounds, scrapes and abrasions. It can also be used for disinfecting objects.
Consult your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after a few days.
What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use CETILSAN:
- if you are allergic to the active substance or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
Warnings and precautions
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using CETILSAN.
Use this medicine only on the external surface of the body.
During treatment with CETILSAN, avoid:
- contact with eyes, mucous membranes and the inner part of the ear (middle ear);
- ingesting the medicine as it can lead to serious, sometimes fatal, consequences;
- exposing the treated area to direct sunlight after applying the product.
This medicine must not come into contact with the brain and meninges. Do not use this medicine for prolonged treatments; consult your doctor if, after a few days, you do not notice appreciable results.
Stop treatment and inform your doctor if you notice reactions on the skin where you have used the medicine (sensitization phenomena) during use.
Children
