What it is and what it is used for
Cloel is a cough medicine that contains the active ingredient cloperastine fendizoate.
This medicine is used as a cough suppressant.
Consult your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after a short period of treatment.
What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not take Cloel
• if you are allergic to cloperastine fendizoate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in paragraph 6);
• Due to the absence of studies in early infancy, the medicine is contraindicated in children under 2 years of age;
• Cloel is generally contraindicated during pregnancy (see Pregnancy and breastfeeding).
Warnings and precautions
Caution is advised when used in patients suffering from intraocular hypertension, prostatic hypertrophy, or bladder obstruction.
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking Cloel.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Frequency not known (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data):
- Urticaria
- Erythema
- At higher doses, dry mouth and mild drowsiness have been reported, which, however, disappear rapidly by reducing the dose.
Following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.
