Description
VISMED GEL contains sodium hyaluronate, a natural polymer also present in the structures of the human eye. The specific physical characteristics of sodium hyaluronate give VISMED GEL viscoelastic and hydro-absorbing properties. VISMED GEL creates a stable coating on the surface of the eye, which is only slowly eliminated with blinking. Therefore, VISMED GEL combines lasting relief with maximum comfort. VISMED GEL is well tolerated thanks to its specific composition.
Symptoms and signs of dry eyes and/or damage to the ocular surface of any severity, due to conditions such as superficial keratitis, Sjogren's syndrome, or primary dry eye syndrome. For prolonged lubrication of the eyes in cases of dryness, burning, fatigue, and other minor non-pathological discomforts caused, for example, by dust, smoke, dry heat, air conditioning, wind, cold, prolonged use of monitors or contact lenses, or due to ophthalmological diagnostic procedures.

Instructions for use
Wash your hands thoroughly before using VISMED GEL. Unscrew the cap. Tilt your head back and position the tip of the container above the eye to be treated. Pull down your lower eyelid with your index finger. Squeeze the container and wait for a drop of VISMED GEL to be released.
Unless otherwise recommended, instill 1 or 2 drops of VISMED GEL into the eye whenever necessary. When the eyelids close, the solution spreads and forms a clear, lasting coating on the surface of the eye.

Ingredients
1 ml of neutral pH solution contains 3.0 mg of sodium hyaluronate, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, disodium phosphate, sodium citrate, magnesium chloride, calcium chloride, and water for injections.
The solution is hypotonic.

Precautions
Do not touch the tip of the opened container and do not touch the surface of the eye with the tip of the opened container. Otherwise, the container must be discarded immediately after use. Close the container after use. VISMED GEL does not contain preservatives; for this reason, any solution not used within 12 hours of opening must be discarded. Otherwise, sterility is no longer guaranteed, and this may lead to a risk of infection. Do not use VISMED GEL if the container is damaged. If the discomfort persists while using VISMED GEL, consult a doctor.
Do not use VISMED GEL at the same time as any medication or other product applied to the eye, as this could alter its effects. Wait at least 15 minutes before instilling other ocular products.
In very rare cases (less than 1 patient in 10,000), transient disturbances such as conjunctival irritation, a foreign body sensation, pain, redness, burning sensation in the eye, or transient blurred vision may occur.

Storage
Store below 30 °C in a dry place and away from light. Do not freeze! Do not use VISMED GEL after the expiry date indicated on the container and outer packaging. Keep out of reach of children. Empty VISMED GEL containers and unused ones can be disposed of with household waste.
