FOLATEX
PLUS
Description
Dietary supplement based on DHA, folic acid (from Quatrefolic) and choline, vitamin D, vitamin B12, zinc and iodine, specifically formulated for women during pregnancy and lactation. Daily folic acid intake in women of childbearing age increases maternal folate status. Low maternal folate status is a risk factor for the development of neural tube defects in the fetus. Folate also contributes to the growth of maternal tissues during pregnancy, is involved in the cell division process, contributes to normal amino acid synthesis and normal hematopoiesis, and supports normal psychological function. DHA taken during pregnancy and lactation contributes to the normal brain and vision development of the fetus and infant. Vitamin D, vitamin B12, and zinc are involved in the normal cell division process. In addition, vitamin B12 contributes to normal red blood cell formation and zinc contributes to normal DNA synthesis.

It is recommended to take 1 softgel per day, to be swallowed with a glass of water. Do not exceed the recommended daily doses. For optimal use of the product, seek medical advice.
Warnings
The beneficial effect of folic acid supplementation in pregnancy is achieved with a daily supplementary intake of 400 mcg of folic acid for at least one month before and up to three months after conception. The development of neural tube defects in the fetus is due to multiple risk factors; intervention on one of these factors may or may not produce the indicated effect. The beneficial effect of DHA on the fetus and infant is obtained with a daily intake of 200 mg of DHA in addition to the recommended daily intake of omega-3 fatty acids for adults, which is 250 mg of EPA and DHA. Keep out of reach of children under three years of age. Supplements are not intended as substitutes for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Do not take in case of known hypersensitivity to one or more components of the product.
