Description
Food for special medical purposes for the dietary management of subjects with malnutrition resulting from chronic kidney failure, where malnutrition and sarcopenia are very frequent. In these conditions, branched-chain amino acids and HMB are essential for their ability to halt protein loss and improve nutritional status more effectively than exclusive use of a dietary regimen.
HYDROXIRAM is indicated for the dietary regimen of subjects requiring enteral nutrition as well as those with normal swallowing function, also facilitating the transition from enteral to oral nutrition.

Ingredients
L-leucine, maltodextrin, calcium hydroxymethylbutyrate (HMB), L-isoleucine, L-valine, flavourings, acidity regulator: citric acid; sweeteners: sucralose, acesulfame K; zinc oxide.

Directions for use
It is recommended to take 1-2 sachets per day, separately, according to medical advice, preferably away from main meals.

- Enteral administration:
Do not combine the product with other enteral nutrition formulas in the same bag.
1. Pour the contents of one sachet into a suitable, dry glass container; disperse in 100 ml of water at room temperature or slightly warm.
2. Mix until completely dispersed.
3. Administer via a tube connected to a syringe.
4. Flush the tube with 30 ml of water before and after product administration.
Preferably use immediately after preparation, within 4 hours if stored at room temperature, within 24 hours if stored in the refrigerator.

- Oral administration:
1. Pour the contents of one sachet into a dry glass and disperse in 100 ml of water at room temperature.
2. Mix until completely dispersed.
Consume preferably immediately after reconstitution.

Warnings
The product must be used under medical supervision and guidance. Not suitable as a sole source of nutrition.
Must not be administered parenterally.
Do not take in case of known or suspected allergy and/or intolerance to one or more ingredients.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, out of reach of children.
The minimum shelf life refers to the product in intact packaging, correctly stored.
Shelf life unopened: 30 months.
